No problem....
Michael just came up to visit (he was back in KY for his birthday at his folks, tomorrow). We went and saw Prince Caspian & the Indiana Jones movie. Stan Bundy sbundy@kih.net ICQ: Basara (2878324) Xfire: basara549

1) Made it back to Rather Manor in one piece.
2) Put the disks you burned for me in my last unused jewel cases after identifying them with fine-point Sharpies. 3) Will endeavor to sign up for those Korean hosting sites so next time we can get through downloading from them without the trouble we had today. 4) Got a new t-shirt from a family friend! May wear it next time I see you. 5) Will start rooting thru my old VHS content for DVD candidates. A list is pending. 6) Your name in Kanji...as both the syllables di and ti are both outside normal Japanese diction, and found only in loanwords, that limits our options. But we can use ban OR bun for the first syllable, so that's nice and flexible. Ban can be night or number/guard. Bun can be write or quantity. To substitute for di, we use chi, and Chi can be mind or earth. Any preferences?

Saw the Macross Zero disks the other day. They all had flaws of one sort or another, but for what I paid for them, I'm not complaining.

My box of stuff-to-dupe-to-DVD, so far:
* Macron 1 (four hour-long tapes, as far as I know the entirety of what CHE released) * Robo Formers (a.k.a. Starvengers; seven tapes) * Rock-N-Rule (is there something wrong with the version already out on DVD? I haven't seen that disk) * Saber Rider & the Star Sheriffs (two tapes I haven't even watched yet) * Shadow World (the dub of UFO Robot Dai Apollon.) * Spaceketeers (the old FHE version, one hour's worth.) * Starbirds (which I think is on DVD somewhere already) * Cloud Dancer (a live-action movie about stunt pilots with David Carradine & Timothy Bottoms) I also have a few aviation-related documentaries.

I noticed just now that Bablefish doesn't have all the Kanji in its system. Remember me showing you the Japanese subset of the font MS PGothic
from Character Map on your computer? I tried cut/pasting a kanji from it to Bablefish and ran it--Bablefish didn't recognize it.
There are about 3600 Kanji available in the PGothic font set, so I'm not all that surprised that Bablefish can't handle them all. Still incredibly disappointed in it, tho'.

I signed up for that Korean website, so next time I see you we'll see how good my account is. Granted, this is one pony I'll demand only one trick
from.

I'll be out the door of Rather Manor in a while. Will have to stop at the Middlesboro Big Lots on the way up to you. Will probably get to your doorstep

On the subject of Macross F soundtrack disks: so far only YesAsia.com is offering them on this side of the Pacific. Only the first one (Musume
Frontier/"Daughter of the Frontier") is available from them. The second one (Interstellar Flight) is a "single" with four songs on it,
including Ranka versions of "Oboeteimasuka" and "My Boyfriend is a Pilot"; it just came out a few days ago. I guess you could skip that one
till a more complete full album comes along.

Yes, I was, and didn't realize it for quite a while. Still, it also shows we can't count on anything being around if this economic chaos
continues/intensifies.

Makes you wonder how bad the "economic chaos" can be when Batman breaks movie receipt records and something like the new iPhone has people standing in lines waiting to purchase them.

Only in truly extraordinary times do bad general economics mean bad times for the movies. People can't afford to travel and take vacations so they go to a
movie or three instead. (The movies with the most ticket sales/screens in the record books were movies of the 1930s, when they were the cheapest entertainment
in town.) BTW, the way profit margins are, most theaters consider themselves popcorn stands that just happen to show movies. NPR just did a program on All
Things Considered on movie popcorn and crunched the numbers on how profitable it is.
Many people consider cell phones to be necessities rather than luxuries. Depends on what you do for a living and what tools you need to do your job and handle your life. I've never owned a cell phone...and I can't afford to get one now. Besides, the iPhone was purposely made in numbers less than the expected demand to drive up public interest...a long-standing marketing ploy.

Bas? Was that "Cthulhu" filk I heard at your place by Luke Ski? I'm asking 'cause a buddy of mine hadn't heard of it (and he's a huge
Lovecraft fan, which surprised me that he hadn't heard of it!). I tried checking Luke's website and couldn't find it.
