Well it seems nobody on the RT.com forums are jumping at this so I am going to post it here.

Epic Games just recently released a free version of the Unreal Engine 3 called UDK(Unreal Development Kit). The engine comes with the ability to make all sorts of games besides FPS using things like UnrealScript. I am just amazed none of the Robotech mod community has jumped at the opportunity of using such a capable and amazing engine like UE3, For FREE!

It would be cool to see a Robotech fan-game running on it, with the kind of graphics it can handle.
One of the stopgap measures developed by the RDF to fight the giant Zentraedi until the Battloid programs (both transformable and non-transformable) could
deliver was the development of what where called Mecha-saurs because they created a hybrid of a Battloid and vehicle in design not unlike the Robosaurus
vehicle that would appear at Monster Truck rallies (http://www.robosaurus.com/home.html) in
the late 20th Century.

One of the more successful designs eventually was modified into what would become the unarmed REF TCH-4 All Purpose Tractor Hauler (See Robotech II: The
Sentinels RPG p. 109-110). While the successor was to fill support roles, several where modified to almost complete TCH-3 standards after a mining facility

It's pretty much a given that at this point in time, Tommy Yune is the sole mecha designer for the entire Robotech franchise. He said so as he designed the
'Silverback', which Protoculture pointed out looked like some kind of gorilla thing.

I'm not saying Tommy's a bad designer, but what do you think should be done with these 'filler' mecha? Should Robotech continue to design new
mecha such as the Silverback, or should it (as usual) go back to the old Southern Cross or Mospeada preproduction lineart as a point of reference in designing
stuff? Does rehashing pre-production mecha add legitimacy to Robotech?

I've checked out the Palladium forums, and I've been seeing some fairly decent buzz surrounding the RPG book. A few of the folks rag on minute gaming
details, which for me isn't a big problem since I don't play it anyway (I think the greatest crime I hear seems to be the utter lack of UEEF
starships).

So anyway, I've been wondering, from a story standpoint (since that is what I look forward to) - does the RPG present anything compelling to make the book
a must buy? Does it present a more complete or coherent view of the overall Pioneer mission, or the Expeditionary Force and its involvement in the Sentinels
campaign? Does it give a decent explanation to any of the happenings in the Prelude to the Shadow Chronicles comics?

If memory serves me, I also heard a long time ago from Kevin Sambieda or someone that the book will focus on Southern Cross. Is this true? Or is it
NewGen/Shadows centric?

The thing I keep hearing from the book are...

I had thought we actually had this discussion finished years ago. Apparently, I was wrong. Now, according to Gideon at Palladium, Tommy says its not a Veritech, but a Battloid. Funny, why the hell would
they put wings and the forearm engines from the Alpha on the Condor? Then, of course, there were Tommy's own words in IRC chat several years ago as well as
the 180 degree change in the Invasion comics. The transformable Super Condor is also apparently not proof of anything either.
