Hey all, it's been forever. I been off the net for a whole year due to sickness. For people who forget, I'm The Masters or sometimes known as RT Info Center on IM. Owner of the Robotech Companion, or whats left of it, heh heh.

I see the whole Robotech fandom has become severely inactive, even on Robotech.com. Interesting that when I decided it was time to become inactive and less interested before I got really sick, that everyone else decided the same. Though its nice to see a smaller tighter and better communicating group of people than all the craziness of old times. It's also nice to see people on here that have always been loyal to Robotech.

Hi to all the people I have always enjoyed and respected: CavScout, Basara, RTSurfer, Legioss, and others.

If anyone wants to really get in touch with me one on one, email is the best answer.

I wish everyone well and gonna keep checking back.

I've ended up spending a decent amount of time on Facebook helping friends in game apps, and keeping in touch with game developers (as part of my role as a mod on Stratics).

I'm Basara 549 there too, and I could use a few more people in my mobs for Mafia Wars, Mobsters 2 and Yakuza Lords....

District 9 movie (spoilers)

Anybody seen it? I saw it and loved it so much that I saw it a second time.

The special fx on this movie were great, considering that the film's entire budget was under $30 million. The way the fx were integrated with the live-action were amazing. You couldn't even tell you were looking at CG. I hope they do the Robotech Live-Action movie at least as well.

The giant mothership hovering over the city of Johannesburg could just as easily have been SDF-1 hovering over Macross City.
The battle scene with the alien power armor was superb. When it fires that swarm of missiles, it looked just like the anime-style itano circus missile volley. I hope that in RLAM, the battles in Macross City between the RDF and the Zentraedi battlepods look just as great.

I liked how the power armor/mecha looked just like the aliens themselves. It even had bug-like antennae. Iron Prawn!

No topic yet? I'm surely not the only one who has seen it, right? ^_^

I thought the movie was good. It wasn't as strong as the first one - strike that: it was different. The first one was very much about the "magic" of seeing these living, transforming beings from another world; this one is more about seeing these living, transforming beings beating the snot out of each other.

My best advice: Ignore the reviews and go see it yourself. If you liked the first, you'll probably like the second.

Do you ever dream about Robotech?

I rarely do. Just now I had a Robotech dream. I've had this dream before, except the last time I had it, there was much more detail. It went on longer that time. I had forgotten all about it. In the dream, there's this concept within fandom of the Earth being taken over and some of the fans have made CG movies of it. By humans or aliens I don't know. I didn't see the enemy, at least not this time, but they seemed human-like. There was this four-letter acronym for what they called it. When I woke up, I couldn't remember it anymore if I had made anything concrete in my mind. I thought remembered it having a G in it for global. On a map, all the land masses had new, strange, alien names.

Then I saw what it would look like in real life. The map became real land and I got closer to one of their floating bases in the ocean. It was a stormy day. I could see the mist blowing in the air and the water lapping up against the docks. Then some people including Annie...

Co-creator of Dungeons & Dragons, Dave Arneson, passes away....

Shortly after 11pm on Tuesday, April 7th, Dave Arneson passed away. He was comfortable and with family at the time and his passing was peaceful.

The Arneson family would like to thank everyone for their support over the last few days, and for the support the entire community has shown Dave over the years.

We are in the process of making final arrangements and will provide additional details as we work them out. We will continue to receive cards and letters in Dave's honor. We are planning to hold a public visitation so that anyone wishing to say their goodbye in person has the opportunity to do so.
